Ok this is the haps.
Basically I'[m struggling to get everything done in the time i have.
At the moment im working from about 10pm till after midnight plu son weekends to get all my commitments done.
i have the strip i need to do, comissions i NEED to do as well as working out what to do with this new comic shop ive bought into? (Did i mention that?)
Anyway i NEED to do the comissions. Since my wifes switched from full time to part-time i have to bring in the extra money and so far the comissions and ebay are working out great. But i NEED to do those.
On top of that i may have a colouring gig lined up doing flatting which could eat up considerable time also.
And then of course on top of that is anything related to the Comic Box (Atwell arcade, Fremantle, Western Australia, check it out - tell your friends - mention that your ea dthe strip and i'll do you a free sketch ;))
So th eproblem is where do i find the time to do the strip?
Well at the moment its hard - im not great at time managing and teh strips been sufferring from that - PLUS im getting terrible numbers on it. Not many comments and , i dont know, after almost 2 years its hard to go out there and promote promote promote. i figure if people care theyd care by now. And i know lots of people do.
The thing with the strip is that soon it will be (hopefully) featured at Comic Book resources when the site goes under its reluanch. Yep - it'll be a daily feature on CBR - how cool is that??
But many problems both business and personal have plagued this so its been delayed for quite a while..so once it finally does pop up there i wont have to worry about no-one seeing the strip at least.
Let me say this right now - im not stopping. I've had too good a time and met too many awesome people that i never would have before through this strip and im comitted to it.
I just need to manage my time better - i've worked out a daily timetable that i need to stick to. i WANT to do 5 strips a week, 1 history, the other 4 proper YO Strips and from my new schedule it looks like i shoudl be able to do it. Although so long browsing on the net, playing Zelda or actually READING any comics ;) (not that ive been doing any of these things over the past few weeks anyway! (Well MAYBE browsing on the net)
So th elong and short of it is expect a few hiccups over the next week or two - HOPEFULLy i can hit the ground running in a few weeks time and then not miss a beat but for now i have to get my head sorted on the paying work (and yes, i know, Year One does help aout a lot -but honestly? most of the people askingf or comissions and buying stuff have never even heard of the strip before)and once im clear on what im doing i'll be back in full force.
Who knows, next week may flow perfectly but im antiicpating that will happen the week after or the week after that. I also need to get the ipod stuff running smoothly - i think that could be a GREAT way of getting the strip out there. I dont care about money or anything regarding the strip - i dont care about doing it for free - i just want to know theres people out there reading it.
And this isnt a plea for comments either. I know guys, how many times can you say "Neat." Its all good. I just needed to explain wher ei'm at right now.
